“I don’t want to be a part of a world, where being kind is a weakness.” — Keanu Reeves

You aspire to become a huge movie star, or at least a full-time, dedicated actor with a long list of box office credits to their name. That being said, have you ever considered the kind of person you want to be once you reach the levels of famous actors in the film industry?

For example, do you want to be nice to your fans? Do you want your personal space and see yourself becoming difficult when getting mobbed by your audience? Do you want to be public-facing on every social platform or do you prefer to live a more private life once the camera stops rolling? Or do you plan on doing great work and letting the chips fall where they may?

Keanu Reeves: Box Office Star and Genuine Human Being

Keanu Reeves has been a successful actor since he burst on the scene as Matt, the stoner with a hidden heart in the 1986 film River’s Edge. He followed it up by starring in some of the biggest summer blockbusters of all time.

Reeves has created excellent moments in the beloved buddy comedy franchise Bill & Ted and action franchises The Matrix and John Wick. That’s not to mention the critically acclaimed indie gems the legendary actor routinely slays, his hilarious cameos or musical career with his band Dogstar.

Regardless of Keanu Reeves’ success, it appears as though fame hasn’t changed him one bit. As far as the internet is concerned, the famous actor is one of the nicest celebrities in the world, and seems to be a happy person.

Examples of Keanu Reeves’ ‘Nice Guy’ Moments

One quick search for the dedicated actor will show you countless articles, videos, memes and even songs celebrating Reeves as a generous person.

For example, one famous moment caught on video shows Reeves taking pictures with a never-ending line of fans at the airport, all cackling and elbowing to get a selfie with Neo. Some might dread seeing a bunch of people waiting for them just as they’re coming off a long plane ride, but Keanu, who likely wants to go home and relax, seems to relish the opportunity to make someone’s day.

In another video, the John Wick star is seen hanging out with a homeless person, sharing some drinks as well as a story or two. The performer doesn’t seem to be in a rush to get away from the down-on-his-luck man and appears to be enjoying himself.

Why is Keanu Reeves So Nice?

Bring a huge movie star, Keanu Reeves has an estimated net worth of over $350 million, and his movies have amassed billions in ticket sales. With those numbers, he doesn’t need to be doing any of these acts of kindness. However, Reeves regularly uses public transportation and the martial hangs out with crew members and stunt crew every chance he gets.

Reeves has also experienced an enormous amount of pain and loss in his life including the tragic death of his friend River Phoenix. His sister, Kim has battled leukemia for years. Reeves also lost both his would-be daughter (a stillborn) and her would-be mother, Jennifer Syme, who was killed in an auto accident in 2003.

Many would be bitter after such events, but Reeves has managed to take all that pain and heartache and have it inform his humble and gracious approach to a simple and productive life.

When you reach the pinnacle of Hollywood success, how do you want the world to perceive you?
